Bulacan won awards in the 3rd Central Luzon Excellence Awards forHealth or CLExAH
The province of Bulacan and its hospitals bagged several awards in the recently concluded 3rd Central Luzon Excellence Awards for Health or CLExAH held at the Holiday Inn, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.
Bulacan was recognized as the Most Supportive LGU for the Welfare of Persons with Disability due to the implementation of programs that support and give importance to PWDs.
The province was also hailed as Outstanding Province for Measles Rubella Oral Polio Mass Immunization for earning high percentage in the actual anti-vaccination campaign against the said diseases.
The municipalities of Bulakan, Hagonoy, Baliwag, Guiguinto, Pandi, Angat, San Miguel, Obando, Pulilan, DRT and the City of San Jose Del Monte (SJDM) were also awarded for being Outstanding Municipalities/City for Measles Rubella Oral Polio Vaccine Mass Immunization. They have vaccinated more than 95% of the target children ages nine months old to five years against measles and polio.
Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that while the province is not aiming to be lauded, it is an honor that Bulacan is being recognized for its efforts in building a healthy community.
“Gusto natin mapagaan ang buhay ng mga Bulakenyo, ‘yung ating mga PWD, nais nating maipadama sa kanila na dito sa Bulacan, kahit dito sa Kapitolyo may tahanan sila. At patuloy tayong magsisikap na mas bigyang pansin ang kalusugan ng mga mamamayan dahil sila ang ating kayamanan higit sa teknolohiya at ang kalusugan ay kayamanan nating mga mamamayan,” Alvarado explained.
According to the Provincial Public Health Office, Kairos Maternity and General Hospital from SJDM received the High Achievers Award for the Newborn Screening Program and Doña Remedios Trinidad (DRT) was conferred the Outstanding Newborn Screening Facility in Central Luzon award and Calumpit District Hospital with Certificate of Recognition as Preceptor Site for the Training on Newborn Screening.
Moreover, DRT, Norzagaray and SJDM were also recognized for having Zero Malaria Case and Zero Malaria Death.
CLExAH is one way of measuring the efficiency and reliability of the service providers while ensuring the quality of service rendered to the people.
