PASAY’S CALIXTO Commends Honest NAIA Porter For Returning P120K Cash AND Cards To Chinese Passenger
Regional Peace and Order Council Chairman and Pasay City Mayor Antonino Calixto commended Porferio Lavado Jr., a resident of Brgy 195 in Pasay, for returning P120,000 worth of cash and cards to a Chinese passenger last July 9, 2015.
Mayor Calixto said that “the honesty of the Pasayenos, indeed, shines through. Honesty is universal. It goes beyond major concerns we face with other nations.”
“We hope that noble acts of honesty such as these could help in whatever way to resolve global issues, Calixto added.
In the height of the onslaught of the Habagat strengthened by Typhoon Falcon, Porferio Lavado of #118 Sun Valley, Brgy 195, Zone 20, Pasay City, returned cash amounting to more than a hundred thousand pesos and assorted ATM and credit cards to Xiren Wu, a Chinese National.
The owner’s identification was confirmed by an identification card found inside the pouch containing the lost item.
The lost items contained in a blue pouch were found unattended in one of the pushcarts at the arrival extension of the NAIA Terminal 1 by pushcart retriever Lavado who was on duty at the time.
The pouch contained various foreign currency bills including Chinese Yuan, Hong Kong Dollar, and Philippine Peso bills amounting to P120,000.
Also found inside the pouch were 20 assorted cards such as ATMs and credit cards.
Mayor Calixto will formally give the City’s commendation to Lavado during the next Flag Raising Ceremony of the Pasay City Hall
