We receive not just rice but love from Taiwan

This was the message of Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado during the fourth rice donation ceremony dubbed as ‘Love from Taiwan’ held at the Pavilion in Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city this afternoon.

“Nawa ay magsilbing inspirasyon sa atin ang kanilang halimbawa upang lalo nating pag-ibayuhin ang masaganang pag-ani ng butil lalo’t higit ang palay na ang produkto’y bigas at kasing halaga ng buhay. Sa pamamagitan ng World League for Freedom and Democracy (WLFD), tinutugon ng  Panginoon ang ating taimtim na panalangin na bigyan tayo ng kakanin sa araw-araw through good Samaritans, hopefully their good deeds will be followed by many,” Alvarado said.

Taiwan Economic and Culture Office Ambassador Gary Song-Huann Lin said that the donation of rice is a symbol of friendship and support to the Philippine community.

The WLFD donated 4,000 sacks of rice weighing 10 kg each while the Provincial Government of Bulacan distributed packs of groceries to Bulacan Federation of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association (BFJODA), Integrated Federation Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association of Bulacan (TODA), Persons with Disability (PWDs), veterans, solo parents, senior citizens and the Dumagats.

The ambassador also shared the similarities between Taiwan and the Philippines.

We share similar culture; we are all friendly, very caring, and very compassionate. We are very thankful to the Philippines because there are more than 110,000 OFWs working right now in Taiwan, they may have made tremendous contribution to our economic development to which we are most grateful,” the ambassador said.

Meanwhile, WLFD President Eng-Chi Yao expressed his happiness, excitement and love for the people of Bulacan and invite them to visit Taiwan.

“We are brothers and sisters, though this is the first time WLFD send rice donation here but as long as you need us we will help. We would also like to call for more people to work out for peace, justice human rights and freedom,” Eng-Chi Yao said through an interpreter.
