In line with Parañaque City Mayor Edwin L. Olivarez’ program towards a business friendly local government and in recognition of the important partnership of the city with the business sector, a meeting on the development of Entertainment City/Aseana Business District was held recently at the Mayor’s Conference Room of Parañaque City Hall. Clearly, the Entertainment City (Aseana Business District) is fast emerging as the new Central Business District of the city and has captured the attention of major investors, both local and foreign. Those who attended the meeting were Mr. Donato Almeda and Atty. Ellan Pailan from Solaire; Mr. George Salvador from Aseana Holdings, Inc.; Mr. Kenji Sugiyama, Dindo Espeleta and Antonio Garcia from Tiger Resort & Casino; Mr. Francis Hernando from PAGCOR; Mr. Edwin Rovero from DPWH-NCR; Engr. Mario Bardeloza from PRA; Mr. John Dioquino from Entertainment City Estate Management Inc. and the various Department Heads of the City Government. Topics discussed include peace & order/traffic management; road and street lights maintenance; beautification/landscape consistency management; drainage/water channel maintenance and solid waste management; Business Permit processing and Disaster Risk Reduction Management Programs. Mayor Olivarez also directed Engr. Bong Rivera of the City Planning Office to make an ordinance regarding the “No Truck Entry” of 20-footer truck and conduct a meeting every quarter or once in every 3 months to discuss the development and issues of Entertainment City.
