Ronda Pilipinas 2015 chooses Bulacan as starting line for Luzon champion
CITY OF MALOLOS – The organizers of Ronda Pilipinas 2015 has chosen the Provincial Capitol Grounds as starting line for the flag off ceremonies of its biggest national cycling stage race covering over 2015 kilometers through Luzon and Visayas.
Qualifying race in Visayas and Luzon were held last February 11-13 and 16-17 respectively to allow as many individual riders to suit up and aspire to be part of the Championship Round of 8 Stages of racing in Luzon on February 22-27, 2015.
The Luzon Championship Round Stage Four, which will be held on February 24, 2015, is a 199-kilometer lap starting at Bulacan Provincial Capitol and concluding at Tarlac Provicial Capitol.
Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said the Provincial Government of Bulacan has allowed the pass thru of Ronda Pilipinas 2015 along the national roads of the province including City of Malolos, Calumpit, Pulilan, Baliwag, San Rafael, San Ildefonso and San Miguel.
Alvarado is also inviting the Bulakenyos to watch and cheer the riders as they pedal in their locality.
Aside from allowing the pass thru, Alvarado gave directives to the local government units and departments concerned to give an all-out support and to ensure a manageable, orderly and peaceful conduct of the said sports event in the province.
Ronda Pilipinas 2015 Project Director Jaideep “Moe” Chulani said over 100 veteran and up-and-coming bikers will vie for the P1 million peso Individual Champion’s prize; P500,000 for the second placer; P250,000 for the third placer and other grand prizes for the Best Junior, Under-23, Climber (King of the Mountain) and Sprinter.
The race is presented by LBC and other major sponsors that aim to build a biking community and discover and develop new and young Filipino talented riders to compete and be trained for its national team. It also aims to promote what is best and most fun in the country.
