QCPD nabs motorcycle rider who ignore police checkpoint
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Police Chief Superintendent Joel Pagdilao announced the arrest one of the two motorcycle riders who ignore a checkpoint and shot pursuing policemen in Quezon City.
PCSupt Pagdilao identified the suspect as Teodoro Natividad y Cruz, 43 years old, married, construction Safety Officer, native of Baliuag Bulacan and residing at No. 47, Anonas Road, Project 2, Quezon City.
Report showed that operatives of PS-7 led by PInsp John Wayne Verzosa were conducting check point about 12:13 am today along New York Street corner West Point St. when two male persons separately on board in their respective motorcycles were flagged down by operatives. However they ignored it instead they sped away prompting the policemen to chase them.
When the suspect noticed that they are being chased, one of them pulled a hand gun and fired towards the policemen but missed. The chasing lawmen fired back hitting the suspect in the right shoulder causing the gun to fell in the ground however he still manage to escape with the other suspect.
The police recovered the gun, a homemade “Paltik” 9 mm caliber and four (4) live ammunition.
In a follow up operation the suspect was arrested while undergoing a medical treatment at Quirino Memorial Medical Center and recovered from him three (3) ammunition of Cal. 32, tooter and other drug paraphernalia. The driven Suzuki Sky Drive motorcycle without plate number was also seized.
The suspect is still confined at the hospital for medication while appropriate charges are awaiting him.
PCSupt Pagdilao commended the operatives for this accomplishment and said that the arrest of the suspect is part of the QCPD’s continuous crime prevention and reduction program with the implementation of “Oplan Lambat Sibat” as ordered by no less than Secretary of the Interior and Local Government Mar Roxas and Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista
