PNoy inspects newly built classrooms in Bulacan

President Benigno Aquino III accompanied by Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado led the inspection of the newly built classrooms in Bulacan during the turnover ceremony of classrooms for Phase 1 of the Department of Education’s Public-Private Partnership for School Infrastructure Project (PSIP-1) held at the City of Malolos Integrated School earlier today.

After the turnover and inspection of the two-storey-18 classroom building and a one-storey-6 classroom building in Bgy. Sto. Rosario, the president received a Classroom Scale Model from DepEd Sec. Armin Luistro and Citicore Chairman Michael Cosiquien which symbolized the accomplished project.

Alvarado together with Vice Gov. Daniel Fernando thankfully accepts the gift of quality education.

“Sinabi nga ng ating pambansang bayani, through education people see the light at idinagdag pa niya sayang lamang ang ating kalayaan kung ito’y ‘di nakabase sa kagalingang naipagkakaloob lamang ng isang mahusay na paaralan kung hindi ang mga pangarap natin sa buhay ay matutulad lamang sa mga alon sa dagat na nababasag ‘pag humahampas sa batuhan,” the governor said.

He also expressed his support to the changes in the education system in the Philippines today.

“The constitution is very clear, the mandate is to give the biggest pie of the budget sa edukasyon. Hindi pwedeng sabihing kulang ang classroom, ang libro, pamasahe, uniporme, there is no excuse for failure at napakaganda po ng ginawa ng ating pamahalaan,”Alvarado said.

According to the Citicore-Megawide, to whom packages B and C of PSIP-1 were awarded, each of the classrooms has a size of 7 meters in width/depth x 9 meters in length and that the design for the classrooms sets are different from the traditional boxed-in types.

There were 718 classrooms constructed in Bulacan and 59 of which are Malolos-based schools such as Marcelo H. del Pilar National High School, Panasahan Elementary School, Malolos Elementary School, Balayong Elementary School, Santisima Trinidad Elementary School, Santor Elementary School, Longos Elementary School, Ligas Elementary School, Balite Elementary School, and Catmon Campus of City of Malolos Integrated School among others.

Classrooms constructed in Bulacan are among the 2,885 new classrooms built in Central Luzon to help address the shortage of over 60,000 classrooms nationwide.
