CALIXTO Responded To HABITAT III Through Pasay-Meralco Urbanization

As urbanization drives development and the need to respond to the UN Habitat III Conference increases, Pasay City Mayor and Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) Chairman Antonino G. Calixto forged a landmark strategic partnership agreement with the Manila Electric Cooperative (MERALCO) where both Government and the Private Sector will work towards responding to the challenges of sustainable urbanization and development. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Mayor Calixto and Meralco President and Chief Executive Officer Oscar Reyes was signed last July 24, 2015 at the Heritage Hotel in Pasay. Among the Programs where the parties agreed to work together on include Disaster Preparedness; Community Electrification Program; Tree Planting Program; Drug Prevention Program as well as Sports and Youth Advocacy Pasay City’s Electricity Distribution Requirement; the Electric Vehicle Project; Energy and Environmental Conservation Program, and the Prepaid Electric Services.
