DILG Adapts VALENZUELA’S PPP Strategy

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) launches the Valenzuela City-inspired program, “LGU P4” or “Public-Private Partnership for the People Initiative for Local Governments,” at the Napolcom Center in Quezon City, September 6, 2016. The new program sought to jumpstart stronger partnerships between the local government units and the private sectors in the provision of infrastructure and basic services. Back in August 23, Valenzuela City Mayor REX Gatchalian presented to DILG - Local Government Academy the city’s current PPP initiatives, such as the New Marulas Public Market and the Valenzuela Town Center, and other future projects. The launch was highlighted by the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between the DILG, National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA)’s Public-Private Partnership Center, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines.
