PRO MIMAROPA arrests 69 personalities in one day during the simultaneous Operations Region wide.

By: Aida Taguicana / Bernie Gamba Police Regional Office MIMAROPA’s intensified Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) formerly called One Time, Big Time Operations or OTBT conducted recently from 12:01 AM of January 29, 2021 to 6:00 AM of January 30, 2021 led to the arrest of sixty-nine (69) personalities out of the ninety-one (91) police operations conducted. This was the result of the concerted efforts of the men and women of Police Regional Office MIMAROPA under the stewardship of PBGEN PASCUAL G MUÑOZ, JR., Regional Director in its serious undertaking of an all-out war campaign against crimes in support to the directives of PRESIDENT RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE and PGEN DEBOLD M SINAS, Chief, Philippine National Police. Out of the 69 personalities arrested region wide, 24 were arrested during operations against Wanted Persons while 45 were arrested for violations on Special Laws. On the arrest of Wanted Persons, 4 out of 24 were classified as Most Wanted Persons (MWP). They were identified as follows: a. Ariel Quezon Lacay, 40 years old, welder and a resident of Sitio Babahurin, Brgy. Guinhawa, Oriental Mindoro. Listed Nr 2 MWP Provincial Level for the Crime of Rape; b. Ricardo Gan Marcelo, 23 years old, farmer and a resident of Brgy. Pulot Interior, Sofronio Española, Palawan. Listed Nr 6 MWP Provincial Level for the crime of Rape; c. Roberto Adovino Gonzales, 52 years old, vendor and a resident of Sitio Anilao, San Isidro, Puerto Galera. Listed Nr 7 MWP Municipal Level for the crime of Attempted Parricide; and d. Gerald Favillar Palatino, 44 years old, farmer and a resident of Brgy. San Antonino, Roxas, Palawan. Listed Nr 10 MWP for Violation of Sec. 97 of PD 705. Moreover, a total of 48 firearms were confiscated/surrendered during the conduct of Oplan Katok. Of the 48 firearms, 37 were long firearms while 11 were short firearms with 74 assorted ammunitions. On the campaign against Special Laws, 10 were arrested for violations of illegal drugs with 157 sachets of shabu confiscated approximately weighing 5,772 grams amounting to more or less Php 133, 350.00; 7 were arrested for illegal logging and violation of Chainsaw Act with confiscation of 1 unit chainsaw and 580.7 board feet of illegal sawn lumbers amounting to Php 25, 000.00 and 13 were arrested for Illegal gambling with confiscated bet money amounting to Php 700.00 and 36 pcs playing cards. Oriental Mindoro PPPO has the most number of operations conducted with the arrest of 30 followed by Marinduque with 13, Palawan with 12, Puerto Princesa with 10 and Occidental and Romblon with both 2. Meanwhile, the Deputy Regional Director for Operations and the concurrent Chairman of the Enhanced Managing Police Operations, PCOL NICOLAS D TORRE III is closely supervising the performance of all the lower units as per the directive and guidance of the Regional Director, PBGEN PASCUAL G MUÑOZ, JR.
