Bulacan launches "Friends of Tourism"

To promote the historical tourist attractions in the province, the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office has launched the Friends of Tourism, a program that will boost the province’s tourism industry, at the Provincial Capitol Gymnasium last June 26, 2015.

Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said that the program aims to bond tourism stakeholders in the province for the promotion of intercultural understanding and appreciation of the Filipinos to the beautiful and historical attractions in Bulacan that will help achieve economic development through employment generation in private and public sectors.

 “Ang Bulacan noon pa mang panahon ng mga Kastila ay patuloy na napapabantog bilang ‘Hardin ng Pilipinas’ dahil sa angkin nitong kagandahan. Dahil dito ay nakita natin ang malaking potensyal ng lalawigan upang maging isa sa sentro ng turismo dito sa ating rehiyon at bansa,” the governor said.

Alvarado and Vice Gov. Daniel R. Fernando together with Mark Lapid, the chief operating officer of Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority led the unveiling of the “I Love Bulacan” signage and the new promotional jingle entitled “Bulakenyo, Dangal ng Lahing Pilipino,” which was composed by Arnel De Pano and performed by Mary Justine Villanueva.

“Kahanga-hanga ang pagtutulungan at pagkakaisa ng mga Bulakenyo na mas pasiglahin pa ang turismo sa lalawigang ito. Dito naganap ang mga makasaysayang pangyayari na bumago sa buhay ng mga Pilipino,” Lapid said, who served as the event’s guest speaker.

Alvarado, who is also the chairman of the Regional Development Council in Central Luzon, also said that Filipinos will experience great leisure time and education trips by visiting the wonders of the province including Barasoain Church, Kakarong De Sili Battle Site, Biak-Na-Bato National Park, Madlum Cave, Angat Dam, Philippine Arena and different resorts that will truly give a gift of relaxation. 

“Magkaisa tayo sa pagbabalangkas ng mga planong magsusulong sa industriya ng pangkasaysayang turismo dito sa Bulacan. Sama-sama nating buuin ang isang istruktura ng bagong edipisyo ng turismo gamit ang mga alaala ng nakaraan,” the governor ended.
